July 2025 SSI & Social Security Payment Schedule

July 2025 SSI & Social Security Payment Schedule

The Social Security Administration has finalized the payment schedule for July 2025, and millions of Americans can now mark their dates on their calendars. Both Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and standard Social Security checks are scheduled to go out on time, with specific payment days depending on when you started receiving benefits or the date of your birth.

Here’s the confirmed schedule for Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disbursements in July 2025:

  • July 1 − SSI recipients receive their July benefit
  • July 3 − Beneficiaries who receive both SSI and Social Security, those living abroad, those whose Medicare is state-paid, or who began benefits before May 1997
  • July 9 − Social Security recipients born between the 1st–10th receive payments (second Wednesday)
  • July 16 − Recipients born between the 11th–20th (third Wednesday)
  • July 23 − Recipients born after the 20th (fourth Wednesday)

If any scheduled date falls on a weekend or holiday, payments are issued on the previous business day.

This distribution method helps manage the massive volume of transactions and ensures smoother delivery across the system.

A key point this year: the payments reflect the recently adjusted 2.5% cost-of-living increase, which brought the average monthly Social Security retirement check to $2,002.

For SSI, the 2025 maximum monthly benefit is now $967 for individuals and $1,450 for couples.

Those relying on paper checks should allow three extra business days for delivery before contacting the SSA at 800‑772‑1213.
