TikTok Announces First-Ever US Awards Show for December Launch

TikTok will hold its inaugural U.S. awards show on December 18 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the company announced Monday.

The event will feature live performances, a red-carpet launch and a live audience of hundreds of creators. Winners will be revealed in a live broadcast simultaneously on the TikTok app and the streaming service Tubi; the show will be available on-demand on Tubi the following day.

Voting for the awards opens November 18 through an in-app portal and runs through December 5.

The announced nominee categories include:

  1. Creator of the Year
  2. Video of the Year
  3. Muse of the Year
  4. Breakthrough Artist of the Year
  5. Capcut Creator of the Year
  6. Storyteller of the Year
  7. TikTok for Good Award
  8. MVP of the Year
  9. Okay Slay Award.
  10. TikTok LIVE Creators of the Year
  11. And many others
Nominees for Creator of the Year include @adamw, @alixearle., @brookemonk_, @keith_lee125 and @kristy.sarah. For Breakthrough Artist of the Year the nominees are @alexwarren, @katseyeworld, @laufey, @ravynlenae and @sombr.

TikTok has staged similar awards events internationally, including in Germany, Mexico and Korea.

The company described the trophies presented on stage as “beaming a colorful glow upon the creators defining this new era of culture encompassing many areas, including fashion, beauty, sports, TV and film, and new forms of entertainment.”

The broadcast strategy appears designed to expand TikTok’s role in live entertainment. According to the announcement, the live-show model leverages the platform’s creator ecosystem and former clip-based formats into a more formal ceremony with red-carpet production values.

This initiative follows wider growth in the creator economy and aligns with TikTok’s ambition to become a destination beyond short-form content alone.

So, will you attend the first ever TikTok Awards show, or will you enjoy it on the live stream?
