Melissa McCarthy hosted Saturday Night Live for the sixth time and showcased a transformed figure after losing an estimated 95 pounds, equivalent to about 43 kilograms.
The 55-year-old actress stepped onto the stage in a fitted black velvet jumpsuit that highlighted her slimmer silhouette during the episode aired on December 7.
Viewers took to X with comments praising her look, such as one user posting:
"Melissa McCarthy looks GOOD!!!! And remains the modern queen of physical comedy, we love to see it," and another stating, "MELISSA MCCARTHY LOOKS SOOOOO GOOD JESUS CHRIST!"
Her appearance followed speculation earlier in the year about possible use of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, sparked by a comment from Barbra Streisand on an Instagram photo of McCarthy from April 2024.
Streisand wrote, "Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?" before deleting it amid backlash, later explaining the remark as a compliment.
McCarthy responded to questions about the exchange by saying:
“I think Barbra is a treasure — and I love her.”
Melissa McCarthy has not addressed the specifics of her latest weight loss, but she has shared details of past efforts in interviews.

She once tried an all-liquid diet that resulted in a 70-pound drop, but she later described the experience by stating, “I'd never do that again. I felt starved and crazy half the time.”
On another occasion, she lost 50 pounds through a mindset change and explained, “I finally said [to myself], ‘Oh, for God sake, stop worrying about it,’ and it may be the best thing I've ever done.”
The Bridesmaids star has spoken openly about body image over the years and described her experiences by saying:
“[I’ve been] every size on the planet. I have experience dressing me as a 6, a 12 and more... And when you go above a size 12, you don’t lose your love of fashion.”
She launched her own clothing line in 2015 to offer inclusive options after facing limitations in available styles for various sizes.
