Huawei Reveals Pura X Max Wide Foldable Design Ahead of April 20 Launch

Huawei has officially released the first images of the Pura X Max, its next wide folding smartphone, confirming the device's distinctive form factor days before its scheduled debut.
The company posted the initial design renders through its channels, showing a book-style foldable with a notably wider aspect ratio than typical models in the category.
When open, the Pura X Max delivers a tablet-like experience, while the cover display appears larger and more usable than on the original Pura X.
The rear panel features a prominent camera module positioned in the upper section, housed in a separate raised compartment rather than a continuous bar.
A thick plate surrounds the lens array and carries the XMAGE branding.
The lower portion of the back incorporates textured grill-like vertical and horizontal lines across roughly 60% of the surface.
The hinge area prominently displays the HUAWEI logo, a detail that points to refinements in build quality and durability.
Pre-order reservations for the Pura X Max opened on the company's VMall platform on April 13.
Buyers can secure a unit with a 1,000 yuan deposit, with full payment due after the April 20 launch event.
The listing confirms five color options: Phantom Night Black, Zero Degree White, Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, and Vibrant Orange.

Standard variants come in 12GB RAM paired with 256GB or 512GB storage, while the Collector's Edition offers 16GB RAM with 512GB or 1TB storage.
The Pura X Max represents the second entry in Huawei's wide foldable lineup under the Pura branding.
Earlier leaks had already hinted at a horizontally folding design aimed at delivering a more expansive screen experience, positioning the device against upcoming wide-screen competitors from Samsung and Apple.
Official images now match many of those expectations while introducing fresh details such as the segmented rear texture and repositioned camera housing.
The device will share the April 20 stage in China with the Pura 90 series of slab flagships.
Huawei has yet to disclose camera specifications, display resolutions, battery capacity, or pricing for the Pura X Max, but additional details are expected in the run-up to the event as the company continues its pre-launch teasers.
