Both corporate boards unanimously approved the transaction. The acquisition will close later this year, pending regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions. Both organizations will operate independently until the transaction completes.

The purchase price reflects a sharp drop from Airtable's previous valuation. Investors valued the cloud database platform at $11.7 billion in December 2021 following a $735 million funding round. Venture capital firms invested nearly $1.4 billion into Airtable since its founding.

Howie Liu, co-founder and chief executive officer of Airtable, issued a statement regarding the deal:

"When we founded Airtable in 2013, we set out to share the magic of building software with more people—to put the power to create apps in the hands of anyone, regardless of technical skill."

"Today, more than 500,000 organizations, including 80% of the Fortune 100, rely on Airtable to power their most critical work. Partnering with Bending Spoons gives us the resources and the long-term commitment Airtable needs to pursue that vision even more boldly as we build the AI-native platform of the future."

Airtable generated about $480 million in annual recurring revenue as of June 2026. That revenue figure represents a 20 percent increase over the prior year. More than 500,000 organizations currently use the platform to organize data and manage workplace procedures.

This purchase represents the first acquisition for Bending Spoons since listing on the Nasdaq exchange on July 1. Luca Ferrari, chief executive officer and co-founder of Bending Spoons, stated:

"Airtable is a pioneering brand reshaping how teams organize data and manage critical workflows. The value being delivered is reflected in annual recurring revenue growing over 20% YoY to approximately $480 million as of June 2026, and joining forces with Bending Spoons will accelerate innovation even further."

"We're committed to investing in Airtable for the long run, and doubling down on its core strength: bringing teams and workflows together in one flexible workspace."

Bending Spoons previously bought several internet brands, including Evernote, WeTransfer, Vimeo, Eventbrite, and AOL. The company restructures operations, reorganizes engineering units, and shifts software development to European tech hubs after acquiring software businesses.

Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE and J.P. Morgan acted as co-financial advisors to Bending Spoons. AXOM Partners LLC served as financial advisor to Airtable.
