If you’re looking for cute nail ideas, look no further. We’ve got all the nail ideas on deck and ready for you to use. If you’re looking to spice up your nails and mix up the designs you already use, we’ve got your back!

Nail Supplies Needed

To complete these beautiful nail art trends, you’re going to need some supplies if you plan on doing them yourself (and not having a stylist do them). You should have:

  • Nail polish, either regular or gel depending on the design
  • Basecoat and topcoat
  • Nail vinyls
  • Stickers and jewels
  • Glue for bigger jewels

1. Not Your Average French Tips

French tips are so outdated, and let’s face it, boring. There are so many other more exciting options to explore, so why would you want to settle for nude-tipped nails? If you’re looking for something exciting, try some of these different French tip designs.

  • Mix and match the colors for your french tips. Using colors from the same family, paint each nail tip a different color. Arrange the colors in order for a gradient look, or arrange them out of order for more fun, spontaneous looks.
  • Use patterns at the tips of your nails, like checkboxes, swirls, hearts, or flowers.
  • You can also use a matte topcoat to make French tips more fun. Use a matte topcoat on the base color and shiny or sparkly nail polish for the tips!

2. Mismatched Hands

When we were kids we all loved to break out ten different bottles of nail polish and paint each finger a different color. Well, that’s in style now. Okay, maybe not ten different colors, but painting each hand a different color is totally on-trend these days.

Make sure that the two colors you pick are either in the same family of colors or are completely different.

3. Natural Nail Art

Natural or see-through nail art is all the rage right now. To accomplish this trend, paint your nails and adding candy nail arts or stickers to your nails that allow for some of the natural nails to peek out.

You can even opt for a sheer basecoat and just stick gemstones or stickers on top of that for a classy and elegant look.

Another way to accomplish this trend is with nail vinyls. Instead of putting them on over colored nail polish, put them on over a clear one, that way when you paint on top of the vinyl and remove it, the natural nail will show through.

4. Groovy Patterns

Wide-legged pants and middle parts are coming back in style, so groovy ‘70s inspired patterns might as well take the stage as well. These patterns incorporate other styles as well, including French tip and natural nail styles.

With groovy patterned nails, you’ll want to paint each nail a different color/pattern. One nail could feature a peace sign design while another could feature the yin and yang symbol. The key here is to use bright, fun colors that really pop.

5. Bling Bling

There’s nothing more exciting than covering your nails in sparkly jewels. These types of designs are really popular these days but seem to only work on gel or acrylic nails.

However, you can still accomplish these pretty nail art designs from home, just use eyelash glue or nail glue (depending on how strong of a hold you want—we recommend eyelash glue if you’re sticking gems to your natural nails).

Do It Yourself vs. Going to a Salon

There are benefits to both. If you do your nails yourself, you can spend a lot of money. However, if you choose to go to a salon, your nails will come out perfect no matter what. No matter what you choose, we hope you have fun using these fun nail art designs!
