These iPhone models will get iOS 16 update for sure
Apple announced the all-new iPhone 14 Pro with the capsule-hole display screen, Apple Watch Ultra, AirPods Pro 2, and many other updates at their “Far Out” launch event on September 7.

The Cupertino based tech company also announced iOS 16 update for iPhone SE to iPhone 13 models (of course iPhone 14 lineup will have iOS 16 already installed).
Here’s a list of iPhone models getting iOS 16 update by September 12, 2022:
- iPhone 14
- iPhone 14 Plus
- iPhone 14 Pro
- iPhone 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 13
- iPhone 13 mini
- iPhone 13 Pro
- iPhone 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 12
- iPhone 12 mini
- iPhone 12 Pro
- iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XR
- iPhone X
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8Plus

And not just iPhones, but Apple will be releasing this new iOS 16 update to iPad models too (starting from October 2022). Here's the list of iPad models receiving iOS 16 very soon:
- iPad Pro (all models)
- iPad Air (3rd generation or newer)
- iPad (5th generation or newer)
- iPad mini (5th generation or newer)
So, these are the Apple devices which will be getting the new OS update called "iOS 16" from Apple on their respective time.
