True Anomaly Banks $260M to Fuel Space Defense Ambitions

The Colorado-based startup, launched just three years ago, is quickly becoming a key player in space defense.

Since 2022, the company has deployed its Jackal spacecraft, launched its modular Mosaic software platform, landed multiple government contracts, opened offices across three states, and raised a total of $400 million.

It also recently opened a 90,000-square-foot facility in Long Beach and announced plans for development missions in GEO and cislunar orbits—strategic areas for national security in space.

“The threat to our Armed Forces and way of life from adversary capabilities in, from, and through space demands the complete focus of an innovative industrial partner,” said Even Rogers, CEO and co-founder of True Anomaly, pointing to the urgency of staying ahead in a rapidly evolving defense landscape. “We are uniquely positioned to partner with the U.S. Government and its allies to place asymmetric, viable deterrence options into the hands of warfighters on record timelines.”

The new round of funding will fuel True Anomaly’s next stage of growth, including more vertical integration, product rollouts, and the hiring of over 100 new team members to bring the total headcount to more than 250.

Over the next year and a half, the company plans to launch four missions across three orbital environments.

“True Anomaly has the right vision, products and leadership to address the critical need to defend U.S. superiority in space,” said Jonathan Turner, Partner at Accel. “Innovation in space defense is at an early stage, but True Anomaly is a clear frontrunner.”

The company also recently added top-tier defense talent to its executive bench, including Stephen Kitay as SVP of Space Defense and Frank Calvelli to its Board of Directors, reinforcing its commitment to leading in space resilience.

True Anomaly’s news comes amid broader conversations in Washington around the future of space as a contested domain.

Just last week, the Department of Defense proposed a $33 billion increase in national security space funding for 2026, signaling the growing weight of orbital capabilities in global strategy.
