The incident occurred during the film’s final scenes. Fiamma Villaverde, who was celebrating her birthday with her 11-year-old daughter and a friend, was struck on the knee by a falling ceiling panel. “There was a really loud noise. At first, we thought it was part of the movie because we were so absorbed, but then a huge piece fell on me,” Villaverde recounted to Infobae. She was taken to a local hospital and diagnosed with a bruised knee.

Villaverde criticized the theater’s management for their response, stating that the manager asked, “How do you want to fix this?” She replied, “How do I want to fix this? I’m going to file a complaint… Just imagine if they hit my daughter in the head! They’re irresponsible!”

The incident has sparked discussions about theater safety, especially given the film’s theme of unexpected accidents. No official statement has been released by Cinema Ocho regarding the collapse.

This event follows a similar incident earlier this year in Wenatchee, Washington, where the ceiling of Liberty Cinema collapsed during a screening of Captain America: Brave New World. In that case, two patrons were present, but neither sustained injuries.

Authorities in La Plata are investigating the cause of the collapse at Cinema Ocho. Villaverde has contacted a lawyer and is considering legal action.
