X-Bow Systems secures over $105 million in Series B funding
X-Bow Systems just secured over $105 million in Series B funding, with Lockheed Martin taking the lead as a strategic investor.

This move isn’t just about capital — it marks a deeper alignment between the two companies, as they formalize a strategic agreement positioning X-Bow as a new independent supplier for Lockheed’s current and future solid rocket motor (SRM) programs.
“We have built a highly respected 'deep hardware technology' company with the current Series A and B investments from our venture partners,” said Jason Hundley, chief executive officer and founder of X-Bow Systems, highlighting the significance of the announcement.
The funding round pulled together a strong list of backers, including Razor's Edge Ventures, Crosslink Capital, Boeing Ventures, Balerion Space Ventures, and several others. Union Square Advisors LLC acted as X-Bow’s exclusive financial advisor for the transaction.
X-Bow is quickly becoming a standout in defense and aerospace. The company is already integrated into more than eight SRM programs across strategic and tactical applications and holds a multi-year backlog in hypersonic flight tests and other Department of Defense priorities.
Its patented Advanced Manufacturing of Solid Propellant (AMSP) system has gone through over a dozen iterations, enabling X-Bow to 3D print and fly both tactical and strategic rocket motor grains.
One of its more unconventional achievements — the Rocket Factory in a Box — is a mobile energetics production setup designed to bring unprecedented flexibility to defense manufacturing.
A new Texas-based energetics campus just south of Austin is set to open soon and will leverage this technology to offer scalable, sustainable, and faster solutions for military use.
As global defense needs continue to evolve, today’s news adds to a broader pattern of major players doubling down on innovative SRM suppliers to modernize the U.S. industrial base.
