Tate had recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and secured her first television role in the pilot episode of the series 9‑1‑1: Nashville, in which she portrayed a character named Julie.
Her talent agency, The McCray Agency, issued a statement on Instagram story announcing her death and confirmed the cause of her death. According to the statement:
“Isabelle ‘Izzy’ Tate had a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. She passed away peacefully on the 19th of October.”
The family requested privacy and asked that donations be made to the Charcot‑Marie‑Tooth Association in her memory instead of flowers.
Tate had publicly disclosed her condition in a 2022 Instagram post, writing:
“When I was 13, I got diagnosed with a progressive neuromuscular disease that weakens my leg muscles over time.”
She added:
“I hated that it was not only breaking me down physically, but I was allowing it to also break down my spirit.”
But what is this CMT Disease?
According to medical sources, Charcot-Marie-Tooth refers to a group of inherited disorders that affect the peripheral nerves, the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. The condition may lead to loss of muscle tissue and touch sensation, particularly in the feet and legs.
Her agency described Tate as “full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others.”
The entertainment community has begun sharing tributes to her. A memorial title card will be included in an upcoming episode of 9-1-1: Nashville, according to coverage.
No further details regarding her memorial arrangements have been widely disclosed.
