Veteran Indian Actor Satish Shah Dies at 74

Mumbai – Veteran actor Satish Shah has passed away at the age of 74. His death was confirmed on October 25, 2025.
For his cause of death, according to multiple reports, Shah died of kidney failure after being admitted to a hospital in Mumbai.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit stated that Shah “died around 2:30 pm today due to kidney failure. He was taken to Hinduja Hospital.”
Born on June 25, 1951, in Mumbai, Shah’s career spanned more than four decades.
He earned acclaim for his roles in cult television shows and films, including the sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai (2004) where he played Indravadhan Sarabhai.
On the big screen, Shah’s credits include titles such as Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), Main Hoon Na (2004) and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003).
Industry peers and fans alike have begun sharing condolences and honouring Shah’s legacy and even Indian PM Modi posted condolences for this loss to the entertainment industry of India.
The statement on his passing noted that he had been receiving treatment for kidney-related ailments prior to his death.
Shah is survived by his family and a vast body of work that extends across television, film and theatre.
