Organized by GamesRadar+, the ceremony live-streamed from a central hotel and recognized titles released through October.
The awards originated in 1983 as the longest-running video game honors, initially centered on home computers before expanding to consoles, with global online voting now standard.
Jetpac claimed the first Game of the Year that year, followed by landmarks like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2003 and Elden Ring in 2022.
Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 captured seven trophies, matching Baldur's Gate 3's 2023 record. GamesRadar stated:
"This year's awards saw Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 win the most gold, with developer Sandfall Interactive taking home seven Golden Joysticks, including Ultimate Game of the Year (UGOTY), tying them with Baldur's Gate 3 and Larian from 2023."
The title prevailed in Ultimate Game of the Year, Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, Best Soundtrack, Studio of the Year for Sandfall Interactive, Best Lead Performer for Jennifer English as Maelle, and Best Supporting Performer for Ben Starr as Verso.
Ghost of Yōtei earned Console Game of the Year and Best Audio Design. Hollow Knight: Silksong took PC Game of the Year and Best Indie Game (Self-Published).
