Hotel Indigo Ubud to launch in Bali in 2027

IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered a joint venture with Indonesia’s Ristia Group to develop Hotel Indigo Bali Ubud, a 130-room property slated to open in 2027.
The hotel will be located on the edge of the Blangsinga Waterfall and Village, adjacent to a riverside temple and green hills cascading down to a river.
The site also features a crafts market, a retail centre, and a glass-bottom bridge.
Chris Anklin, Senior Director for Development in Southeast Asia and Korea at IHG, said Indonesia remains a “very important growth market.”
IHG currently operates 33 hotels in Indonesia, with 12 more in development.
According to IHG, the company’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Southeast Asia and Korea now includes 92 open and pipeline hotels.
Michella Ristiadewi, Commissioner of Ristia Group, described Hotel Indigo as “the ideal brand to showcase the unique story of this neighbourhood, from its waterfalls and temples to its artistic and cultural heritage.”
She added that the partners aim to build a destination appealing to both international and domestic visitors.
IHG said the property will offer “immersive social experiences,” dedicated neighborhood guides, and locally inspired culinary programming designed to reflect Ubud’s character.
Hotel Indigo Bali Ubud will complement IHG’s existing and planned Indigo properties in Indonesia, which include Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach, Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, and Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach.

Globally, the Hotel Indigo brand encompasses 183 hotels in more than 25 countries, with 132 more in the development pipeline.
IHG’s choice of Ubud for this property reflects a broader shift in tourism demand on Bali, as more visitors look beyond the island’s beaches toward cultural, wellness, and nature-focused experiences.
