Huawei Pura 90 Leak Reveals 1-Inch Main Camera Sensor and Dual Periscope Upgrades for 2026

A prominent Chinese tipster disclosed details of Huawei's upcoming Pura 90 smartphone series, signaling advances in camera technology set for a 2026 release.

The leak, posted on Weibo by Digital Chat Station, indicates the devices are undergoing tests with a new 1-inch main camera sensor.

This sensor aims to deliver sharper images, reduced grain in low-light conditions and improved detail across various environments.

Digital Chat Station wrote:

"the Huawei Pura 90 models are testing a new 1-inch main camera sensor."

The tipster did not specify whether the sensor originates from SmartSens or OmniVision.

Huawei is also evaluating two periscope telephoto lenses for the series, continuing the dual-zoom approach from previous models with modifications.

One lens features a 200-megapixel resolution, while the other uses a 50-megapixel sensor.

Both support a 1/1.28-inch sensor size and are expected in higher-end variants such as the Pro and Ultra models.

Digital Chat Station stated:

"Huawei is evaluating two new zoom lenses. The first is a 200MP sensor, while the other is a 50MP sensor. Both support a 1/1.28-inch size format."

Huawei Pura 90's 200-megapixel option has been anticipated by consumers for inclusion in Huawei devices.

The Pura 90 lineup will incorporate an upgraded multispectral camera.

The entire imaging system may employ RYYB color filters. These components position the series to compete in flagship photography segments.
