Oppo launched its A6 5G smartphone in the Indian market on January 20, 2026, equipping the device with a 7,000mAh battery and pricing the base model at INR. 17,999.

The handset targets budget-conscious consumers seeking extended battery life and 5G connectivity, arriving amid competition from similar offerings by brands like Samsung and Realme. 

Oppo A6 5G runs on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

It features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720x1,570 pixels, a refresh rate reaching 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, and peak brightness of 1,125 nits.

The phone includes a dual rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, alongside a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

An 8-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls, with both setups supporting video recording at up to 1080p and 60 frames per second.

It ships with Android 15-based ColorOS 15 and supports dual nano-SIM cards. Connectivity options encompass 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB Type-C port, along with navigation systems such as BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. Onboard sensors consist of a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, e-compass, and accelerometer.

Security measures include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock functionality.

Oppo rated the A6 5G with IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance, allowing it to withstand submersion in 1.5 meters of still water for 30 minutes and high-temperature water jets. 

The company incorporated a SuperCool VC system with a 3,900 square millimeter vapor chamber to manage heat during intensive tasks.

The battery supports 45W wired fast charging, enabling a charge from 1% to 37% in 30 minutes and providing up to 21.8 hours of online video playback or 12 hours of MOBA gaming on a full charge, according to lab tests.

The smartphone also offers reverse wired charging at 5V/1A maximum via USB-OTG and a dedicated C-to-C cable. It measures 166.6x78.5x8.6mm and weighs 216 grams.

Oppo made the A6 5G available in Sapphire Blue, Ice White, and Sakura Pink colors.

Sales began immediately through the Oppo India online store, with the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant at INR. 17,999, the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at INR. 19,999, and the 6GB RAM and 256GB storage at INR. 21,999. Buyers receive an instant Rs. 1,000 cashback and three-month no-cost EMI options with select bank credit and debit cards.
