Xiaomi Launches HyperOS 3 Rollout for Xiaomi 12 Series in China
Xiaomi began deploying the HyperOS 3 software update to several devices in its Xiaomi 12 lineup and other models in China on January 14, 2026.
The update brings the devices to Android 15 and introduces system optimizations for performance and security.
Users in China reported receiving the over-the-air update starting early that day.
The rollout includes the Xiaomi 12 with firmware version OS3.0.2.0.VLCCNXM.

All of the other eligible devices will receive this update later.
"The Xiaomi HyperOS 3 update, which runs Android 15, has started rolling out for the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12S lineups," according to a report from XiaomiTime, a site tracking Xiaomi developments.
The company scheduled the update for these models in January 2026 as part of a broader plan to extend Android 15 support to older devices before shifting focus to Android 16-based versions for newer hardware.
Xiaomi confirmed the devices qualify for this stable beta release through its OTA servers in China, where users can check for the update in settings or download it manually from official channels.
The update marks the final major Android version for these models, as Xiaomi plans no further upgrades beyond HyperOS 3 based on Android 15.
