Rosina Food Products recalled 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat frozen meatball products on February 22, 2026, after a consumer reported finding metal fragments in the items.

The company, based in West Seneca, New York, produced the affected meatballs on July 30, 2025, and shipped them to Aldi stores across the United States.

"Rosina Food Products, Inc., a West Seneca, N.Y. establishment, is recalling approximately 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) frozen meatball products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically metal," the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service stated in its official announcement.

This recall covers 32-ounce printed poly film bag packages labeled as Bremer Family Size Italian Style Meatballs, each containing about 64 meatballs.

These packages carry a best-by date of October 30, 2026, and timestamps ranging from 17:08 to 18:20 on the back of the label.

The products also bear the establishment number EST. 4286B inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The recall stemmed from a single consumer complaint about metal fragments discovered in the meatballs.

Federal officials initiated the action to prevent the potential distribution of contaminated items still in circulation.

The meatballs have a 15-month shelf life, which places them within reach of consumers who may have purchased and stored them since last summer.

Distribution records show the products reached Aldi supermarket locations in all states, making the recall nationwide in scope.

"The problem was discovered after FSIS received a consumer complaint regarding metal fragments found within the product," the agency added in the same notice.

No confirmed injuries have resulted from consuming the recalled meatballs.

Consumers who bought the products face instructions to discard them or return them to the point of purchase.

The company provided a contact line at 1-888-767-4621 and an email at CService@rosina.com for inquiries related to the recall.

Federal authorities plan to conduct effectiveness checks to ensure the recalling firm notifies customers and removes the products from availability.
