Apple Poised to Launch iPhone 17e on February 19

Apple plans to announce the iPhone 17e on Thursday, February 19, according to a report from Macwelt, which cited industry sources.

The announcement would come exactly one year after the company unveiled the iPhone 16e on February 19, 2025.

The German publication, equivalent to Macworld, detailed that the launch aligns with patterns observed in accessory and case manufacturers preparing for the device.

A separate report from iDrop News corroborated the date, stating that leaked information indicates the iPhone 17e will debut with an A19 processor and support for 25W MagSafe charging.

The date matches the first anniversary of the iPhone 16e release and falls on a Thursday, a shift from the company's usual pattern of Monday or Tuesday unveilings.

The tech giant will make the announcement through a press release, with no special event scheduled.

iPhone 17e will come with MagSafe wireless charging at up to 25 watts, a step up from the 7.5-watt Qi charging in the prior model.

It will keep a single rear camera and the front display notch.

"The new smartphone is reportedly equipped with MagSafe (wireless charging up to 25W)," Macworld reported.

The device will carry Apple's second-generation C1X modem and may add an ultra-wideband chip for location tracking, which the iPhone 16e lacked.

The phone will include an N1 wireless network chip. Apple has made no official statement on the matter.

The iPhone 17e succeeds the iPhone 16e, which started at $599 and targeted markets seeking affordable entry into Apple's ecosystem.

SmartPrix mentioned the device would feature a second-generation C1X modem alongside the MagSafe upgrade.
