Crypto.com CEO Pays Record $70 Million for AI.com Domain Name

Kris Marszalek, co-founder and chief executive of Crypto.com, acquired the domain name ai.com for $70 million.
The deal closed in April 2025 with payment made entirely in cryptocurrency and stands as the highest price ever disclosed for a domain name transaction.
Broker Larry Fischer of GetYourDomain handled the sale. The seller was Arsyan Ismail. The domain had carried a $100 million asking price when it was listed in March 2025.
Marszalek disclosed the purchase in a post on X dated Feb. 6:
"I purchased ai.com in April. Since that time, we created a team that has been steadily building. There are always twists and turns, but I’m excited with our first launch this Sunday during the Super Bowl," he wrote.
The site will operate as an agentic AI platform (as it is operating right now).
Users will gain access to autonomous AI agents capable of handling messaging, running applications and executing stock trades and other things just like their creators.
The launch aligns with a Super Bowl advertisement scheduled for Sunday. Marszalek previously purchased the crypto.com domain for $12 million in 2018.
The $70 million price more than doubles the prior record of $30 million paid for voice.com in 2019. The Financial Times first reported the transaction value.
The platform targets consumers seeking to deploy AI agents with minimal technical expertise.
