The models became available on February 12 at LG.com and at authorized retailers nationwide.
“Sound has always been part of LG’s identity, beginning with the first radio made in Korea and evolving into today’s wireless audio innovations,” said Lee Jeong-seok, head of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company’s audio business division.
The xboom Buds Plus carry a price of $179.99 and include six-microphone active noise cancellation along with a charging case equipped with UVnano technology.
The case uses UV-C light to eliminate 99.9 percent of bacteria from the earbud speaker mesh and eargels within 10 minutes of charging.
The case also serves as a Bluetooth transmitter that connects to wired audio jacks such as those on airplane entertainment systems or gym equipment.
Earbuds in the Plus model use 10-millimeter graphene-coated drivers and deliver up to 10 hours of playback without noise cancellation or 7.5 hours with it active.
The case extends that to a total of 30 hours without noise cancellation or 24 hours with it on.
The earbuds support adaptive equalization through the xboom Buds app, multi-point connection to two devices simultaneously, Auracast LE Audio for broadcasting to multiple receivers, wireless charging for the case and an IPX4 rating against water and sweat.
The xboom Buds Lite sell for $69.99 and focus on extended runtime with a total of 35 hours of playback from the earbuds and case combined. The earbuds alone provide 11.5 hours without noise cancellation or 8.5 hours with it active.
The Lite model uses a single microphone for noise cancellation and the same 10-millimeter graphene-coated drivers tuned by will.i.am. It includes stabilizing fins for fit, an IPX4 rating and app-based equalization but lacks the UVnano case and Bluetooth transmitter found on the Plus.
Both sets of earbuds carry audio tuning from nine-time Grammy winner will.i.am under the xboom by will.i.am branding. The partnership has produced earlier audio products centered on balanced sound with emphasis on warm tones.
The earbuds measure roughly 1 inch by 0.8 inch by 0.9 inch each and weigh about 0.2 pounds for the Lite pair including the case or 0.3 pounds for the Plus.
They support Bluetooth 5.4 with SBC and AAC codecs and work with voice assistants including Google Assistant and Siri.
LG first revealed the Buds Plus and Buds Lite models in September 2025 as part of an expansion of the xboom lineup.
