Xiaomi Rolls Out HyperOS 3 Stability Update to Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro as Software Support Ends

Xiaomi has begun distributing a targeted HyperOS 3 stability update to the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro in Global and EEA markets. The rollout, which started in late March 2026, arrives shortly after the company confirmed the end of all software support for the 2021 flagship series.
The update carries build numbers OS3.0.3.0.VLCMIXM for the Xiaomi 12 Global variant and OS3.0.3.0.VLBMIXM for the Xiaomi 12 Pro Global variant. EEA versions use OS3.0.2.0.VLCEUXM and OS3.0.2.0.VLBEUXM respectively.
Delivery occurs through Recovery ROM packages, with over-the-air notifications appearing progressively for eligible units.
Firmware databases list the release date as March 23, 2026, and note an Android 15 base with a file size around 5.7 GB for full Recovery packages and roughly 55 MB for incremental OTA files.
This release serves primarily as a stability fix following the initial HyperOS 3 deployment on the devices.
It resolves occasional app crashes traced to memory management conflicts, stricter background process limits, and System WebView integration issues that surfaced after the Android 15 transition.
The package also incorporates the February 2026 Android security patch level to maintain baseline protection.
The Xiaomi 12 series launched with Android 12 in December 2021. Owners received subsequent upgrades through HyperOS 1 and HyperOS 2 before reaching this final iteration.
According to Xiaomi’s official security center documentation, the update cycle for the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Lite has now concluded entirely.
The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro stop at HyperOS 3.0 on Android 15, while the Lite model remains on HyperOS 1.0 with Android 14. No additional feature updates or security patches will follow.
Firmware tracking sites and regional community reports confirm the update is reaching users in phases across Global and EEA regions.
No China-specific builds appear in the latest wave for these models, consistent with earlier domestic rollout phases completed in February 2026. The company has not published a detailed public changelog beyond the stability and security improvements noted in tracking databases.
With the rollout now active and support officially retired, Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro users have received the last official software package the devices will ever get from the manufacturer.
