Honor refreshes MagicBook X14 Plus and X16 Plus for 2026 with Intel Core Ultra chips and larger batteries
Honor has introduced its latest midrange laptops, the MagicBook X14 Plus and MagicBook X16 Plus (2026), adding Intel’s newer Core Ultra processors, higher refresh rate displays, and larger batteries as it expands its PC lineup for the year.
The two notebooks were announced this week in China, with availability beginning April 30. The release follows earlier teasers that confirmed an April launch window alongside other new devices in Honor’s laptop portfolio.
Both models are powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 5 325 processor, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of SSD storage, with an additional slot for expansion. Honor claims the chip can deliver up to 52W of performance under load, positioning the devices for mainstream productivity and light creative workloads.
Display upgrades are central to the refresh. The 14-inch MagicBook X14 Plus can be configured with a 2880×1800 panel at 120Hz, while the larger 16-inch X16 Plus offers up to 2560×1600 resolution at the same refresh rate.
Both include what Honor describes as eye-protection LCD panels, with reduced blue light and flicker mitigation features.
The shift to 120Hz panels in this price segment reflects a broader trend across Windows laptops, where higher refresh rates are moving beyond gaming-focused devices into everyday notebooks.
Each model carries an 80Wh battery, a notable increase compared with earlier MagicBook X-series devices, which often shipped with smaller capacities depending on configuration. Honor says the new models can reach up to 14 hours of usage, though the company has not detailed testing conditions. Charging is handled via a 65W adapter, and the laptops also support 60W reverse wired charging for external devices.
Both devices use a metal chassis and maintain relatively thin profiles. The X14 Plus weighs about 1.27kg, while the X16 Plus comes in at 1.64kg. The design remains consistent with earlier MagicBook X models, emphasizing portability and minimal styling changes.
Ports include dual USB-C 3.2 Gen2, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, alongside Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC support.
Pricing and positioning
Pricing starts at 5,999 yuan, roughly $878, for the X14 Plus with a Full HD display, rising to 6,499 yuan for the higher-resolution version. The X16 Plus begins at 6,199 yuan and reaches 6,699 yuan for its top configuration.
Both models go on sale on April 30 in China.
Honor has not announced international availability, though previous MagicBook X series models have gradually reached global markets.
The launch arrives as Honor continues to broaden its laptop portfolio, which now spans entry-level X-series devices, higher-end MagicBook Pro models, and gaming-focused WIN laptops. The company has been steadily integrating Intel’s Core Ultra platform across its lineup, reflecting a wider industry shift toward hybrid CPU architectures and on-device AI capabilities.
The X14 Plus and X16 Plus updates target the midrange segment where price-sensitive buyers expect premium features like high-refresh displays and long battery life without moving into flagship pricing tiers, a category that has become increasingly competitive across Chinese PC manufacturers.
