OPPO Reno 16 Series Launches in China!

OPPO officially unveiled the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro on May 25, 2026, in China during an evening event.
The new series emphasizes photography capabilities with a shared 200-megapixel primary camera, premium metal frame construction, and significantly larger batteries compared to predecessors.
The Reno 16 series continues OPPO's focus on the mid-to-upper midrange segment with photography as a core selling point.
Both models feature a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 200MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens supporting 3.5x optical zoom and up to 7x lossless zoom.
A 50MP front camera handles selfies and video calls on each device, with video recording capabilities reaching 4K at 60 frames per second.
Design-wise, the phones adopt metal frames paired with matte glass back panels. The series continues the "Flowing Cloud Dual Mirror" aesthetic from prior Reno generations.
Body thickness measures around 7.5mm to 8.2mm depending on the variant, with weights reported between 188g and 195g. Both models offer IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.
Displays are flat OLED panels with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rates, supporting LTPO adaptive refresh technology and ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensors.
The standard Reno 16 features a compact 6.32-inch OLED display. It is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 8550 or Dimensity 8500 chipset.
Battery capacity stands at 6,700mAh with support for 80W wired fast charging. Storage and RAM options include configurations up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
The Reno 16 Pro steps up with a larger 6.78-inch OLED display.
It uses the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor.
Battery capacity increases to 7,000mAh, supporting 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Pro model also includes additional premium touches such as enhanced thermal management for sustained performance.
Both devices run ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and incorporate new AI features for photo editing and processing.
A dedicated Snap Key shortcut button, previously introduced on the Find X9 series, appears on the Reno 16 lineup for quick camera or function access.

Magnetic accessories for enhanced selfie capabilities were also highlighted in pre-launch materials.
Pricing for the Reno 16 series in China starts from approximately $513 for base variants of the standard model, with higher configurations and the Pro variant positioned accordingly.
Pre-orders opened ahead of the launch, with availability beginning shortly after the event. Color options include Galaxy Purple, Heartbeat, Moonlight Is Dark, and additional finishes.
Global availability, including a potential India launch, is expected in July or August 2026.
Reports indicate up to four models could reach international markets, possibly including Pro Mini and other variants alongside the main duo.
The Reno 16 series positions itself with flagship-level camera hardware and build quality in a segment traditionally focused on balanced all-rounders.
The identical camera systems across both models and the inclusion of periscope telephoto lenses distinguish the lineup from many competitors at similar price points.
