iOS 27 Supported iPhone Models (Full List of Compatible Devices)

Apple has released the official list of iPhones that will support iOS 27, the major software update unveiled at WWDC 2026. The company is maintaining broad device compatibility, extending support to the same lineup that received iOS 26 without dropping any models this year.

The update, which entered developer beta immediately following the keynote on June 8, brings enhancements to Apple Intelligence, including a significantly upgraded Siri, along with Liquid Glass interface refinements and performance optimizations.

Apple has not removed any iPhone models from the compatibility list, allowing devices dating back to 2019 to install the new software.

According to Apple's published compatibility information, iOS 27 supports the following iPhone models:

  • iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation and later)

This means owners of the iPhone 11 series, which launched in September 2019, will receive another major iOS update, extending software support to roughly eight years for those devices, which I think only Apple can do.

The iPhone SE models from 2020 onward are also included.

Older models, such as the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and earlier, will not receive iOS 27 and will remain on iOS 26.

Pre-release testing of the developer beta has shown the software running smoothly even on older hardware.

Early user reports highlight responsive performance and minimal battery impact across supported devices, though some typical beta issues like occasional drain have appeared, and it looks like this time Apple has fixed the battery drain issues for most of the devices.

Not all features will be available on every iOS 27 compatible iPhone.

Advanced Apple Intelligence capabilities, including the enhanced Siri AI, require more recent models equipped with sufficient processing power and memory.

Full access to these AI tools starts with the iPhone 15 Pro models and extends through the iPhone 16 and 17 series.

The public beta is scheduled for July, with the stable version expected in September 2026 alongside new iPhone hardware.

Users can check the eligibility of their iPhone model by going to Settings > General > About on their device.

This decision to maintain wide compatibility reflects Apple's ongoing efforts to support its installed base while reserving cutting-edge features for its latest hardware.

The full release will clarify any additional performance differences across the supported lineup.
