Oppo adds AI Snap Key to Reno 16
Oppo has introduced the AI Snap Key on the Reno 16 series, a dedicated side button that puts AI tools one press away. The phones ship with the updated ColorOS 16.

The company said users will be able to trigger AI-backed tools by tapping the dedicated AI Snap Key. Tools include AI Recording Sticker, AI Scan, AI Voice Translation, AI Menu Translation, AI Bill Manager, and AI Mind Pilot.
How the AI Snap Key works?
Making its debut on the Reno series, the AI Snap Key serves as the physical hardware entry point to the device's software ecosystem. A short press instantly captures screenshots, references, or on-screen inspiration, routing them directly to the system's memory hub. A long press activates on-the-move voice note recording.
A single press can save on-screen content directly to Oppo's Mind Space feature. A long press records a voice note. A double press launches Mind Space instantly. Users can also customise the button to trigger frequently used functions such as the camera, flashlight, translator or voice recorder.
The customizable side-mounted button can launch the camera, flashlight, recorder, translator, and other functions. It also works with Oppo's AI Mind Space platform for saving, organizing, and retrieving information.
Unifying ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity
The bigger play is Mind Space, which bundles Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT into a single interface, paired with Oppo's AI Mind Pilot.
AI Mind Pilot combines multiple AI platforms including Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT within a single interface. Users can compare answers from different AI models side by side or let the system automatically choose the best AI model for a specific task.
The Reno16 Series introduces AI Mind Pilot, an industry-first unified interface that aggregates major Large Language Models including Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT on a single screen. Instead of navigating separate applications for research or planning, users can automatically receive responses from the most relevant model or view answers side-by-side for cross-verification.
The smartphones will run ColorOS 16, featuring Live Space, Capsule Mode, HDR enhancements, smoother animations, and system optimisations designed to maintain long-term performance.
Running on Android 16-based ColorOS 16, the Oppo Reno 16 introduces AI Mind Space, a centralized repository that functions as an intelligent memory hub. Content captured via the AI Snap Key is automatically categorized into contextual folders, streamlining subsequent retrieval.
ColorOS 16 also introduces Live Space, a revised interaction system optimized to display relevant updates without disrupting ongoing tasks, and Immersive Mode, which keeps persistent background utilities like music playback visible while maintaining focus on the primary application.
Positioned as an AI-powered smartphone lineup for content creators and everyday users, the Reno 16 series combines upgraded cameras, Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon chipset, new AI productivity tools, and advanced editing features.
Alongside improved imaging capabilities, Oppo is introducing AI Mind Pilot, AI Snap Key, AI Mind Space, and the new OPPO Bubble accessory. The smartphones will also debut with ColorOS 16, bringing smarter AI experiences, enhanced privacy, and long-term performance improvements.
