When is Amazon Prime Day 2026?

Amazon confirmed the dates for its annual shopping event, which gives Prime members four days to shop deals. The sale starts at 12:01 a.m. PDT on June 23 and ends on June 26.

This year, Amazon has once again expanded its event to an exciting four days, following the success of this format in 2025. It's a thrilling evolution that promises even more deals and excitement for shoppers!

The company moved Prime Day to June from its more common July slot. Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime, pointed to strong member engagement throughout the full period last year as a reason to keep the longer window.

Amazon also aims to help shoppers stretch their dollars amid economic pressures.

"Prime Day is the biggest shopping event of the year exclusively for members, whether they're looking for deals on the latest electronics, getting ahead on back-to-school shopping, or saving on fresh groceries and household essentials," Ghani said. "The incomparable value of Prime keeps growing, and this year is no exception."

Early deals are already available for Prime members across devices, groceries, fashion, books, and more. Amazon highlighted savings on its own products like Echo, Kindle, Ring, and Fire TV devices.

Groceries and everyday essentials receive special focus, with promotions such as free same-day delivery on qualifying orders and discounts at Whole Foods Market.

Prime Day remains members-only for 2026.

Shoppers without a subscription can sign up for a free 30-day trial or pay $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Amazon offers discounted rates for young adults and students.

The event spans more than 35 categories and includes limited-time offers that drop throughout the days.

Amazon promoted tools like Alexa for Shopping to help members set deal alerts, check price history, and receive personalized guides.

Retail analysts noted the change in timing and format. The earlier date helps avoid July competition, and the extended sale gives shoppers more time.

Others pointed out that with high Prime membership penetration, over 86% of online shoppers already subscribed, the event now serves more to drive deeper engagement and grocery sales than to add many new members.

Sellers on Amazon are prepared for the sales push.

Forums and guides urged merchants to stock inventory, run promotions, and monitor performance closely during the four days, as the event can boost visibility and long-term rankings.

Amazon runs Prime Day in numerous countries this year, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and others in Europe and beyond.

Some markets like Australia, Brazil, India, and Japan will hold their events later in the summer.

Prime members can also access tie-in offers such as early movie screenings for Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and partnerships like discounted pizzas from Little Caesars.

Deals pages and the Amazon app feature Today's Big Deals that refresh multiple times per day. Lightning deals and category-specific discounts appear throughout the event.

Amazon first launched Prime Day in 2015 as a one-day celebration of its anniversary. The event grew over the years into a major sales driver that often rivals Black Friday in scale.

This year's version continues the focus on value for members through discounts, fast delivery, and exclusive access.

Shoppers and sellers watch the event closely as it unfolds this week. Early offers continue to roll out ahead of the main dates.
