Baby Goes Viral For His Extreme Relaxation Minutes After Being Born (video)

A clip of a baby lying with his hands behind his head and legs crossed has millions of views. Initial media reports disagree on which Egyptian doctor filmed it, and the family of the baby has not been identified yet.
A newborn lying with both hands behind his head and one leg crossed over the other has become the subject of a viral clip posted on X with the caption: "Baby goes viral for his extreme relaxation minutes after being born." The post, first shared by the account @crave_indie on 16 October, had more than 2.4 million views by the next day, according to X's public counter.

The footage shows the baby on a blue medical drape, one leg crossed over the other and one hand tucked behind his head, while a doctor in scrubs examined him with a stethoscope. The baby's name, the hospital and the date of birth were not included in the post.
Earlier reports of a newborn in the same pose appeared in September. Crescer, a Brazilian outlet published by Globo, reported that the video was recorded by Egyptian pediatrician and neonatologist Mohamed Ali Atia in a hospital in Egypt.
Briefly News quoted his Instagram caption:
"The mayor of Al-Hassayna has arrived. This is not a mayor. This is a foreign minister."
Alô Alô Bahia, another Brazilian outlet, reported that Atia called the baby "mayor of Al-Hassaniya," a reference to a locality in Dakahlia province, Egypt.
It said the first video had passed 37 million likes on Instagram and a second had passed 22 million views.
We learned from the original video that the doctor in the footage was Islam Eldeh, an Egyptian neonatologist, and that he smiled and asked the baby, "What are you doing?" before checking the baby's heartbeat with a stethoscope.

NDTV has previously identified Eldeh as an Egyptian neonatologist who posts videos of newborns.
Neither Atia nor Eldeh has issued a statement that resolves the discrepancy. Alô Alô Bahia reported that Atia did not reveal the baby's name, the hospital or the exact date of birth, and that it was not clear who filmed the video. The October X post did not name a doctor or a hospital at all.
The caption describes the baby's manner as "extreme relaxation." Newborns often keep the flexed posture they held in the womb, and many early movements are involuntary reflexes, according to Mi Bebé y Yo, a Spanish parenting publication.
A crossed leg and a hand behind the head can look like a holiday pose.
The spread of the clip has produced a familiar split between the image and the record. The image is easy to share: a newborn who looks as if he has already checked into a resort. The record requires a name, a place and a date, and those are the details that have not travelled with the clip.
No one has commented on behalf of the now viral baby.
