TikTok is taking social media world by storms with the daily increase in the userbase in thousands and its growth rate is really alarming for other social media giants like Instagram and Snapchat.

However, Reddit CEO and co-founder Steve Huffman is not happy with the TikTok app as he said that the TikTok app is “fundamentally parasitic”, he shared his thoughts talking about fingerprinting for tracking devices while giving a speech at Social 2020 Venture Capital Conference (SVCC).

He further told that Silicon Valley startups should learn from TikTok and said "“Maybe I’m going to regret this, but I can’t even get to that level of thinking with them,”:
“Because I look at that app as so fundamentally parasitic, that it’s always listening, the fingerprinting technology they use is truly terrifying, and I could not bring myself to install an app like that on my phone.” he further added.
He also added that:
“I actively tell people, ‘Don’t install that spyware on your phone.”
Just a few hours later, a TikTok spokesperson shared that these are the baseless accusations and have no evidence at all.

To take into account, many others shared the same views of Stave Huffman with fingerprinting issues.

However, TikTok's parent company ByteDance claims that they use fingerprinting technology just for tracking issues and making the app better for users and even research by Matthias Eberl suggested that TikTok app works fine after disabling the fingerprinting coding, that is the proof of why TikTok is not using it to track users.
