Emergency crews are battling a significant fire at Tomorrowland’s main stage in Boom, Belgium, just two days ahead of the festival’s July 18 launch. Videos circulating online capture thick black smoke and large flames, with eyewitnesses reporting fireworks-like explosions triggering the blaze.

Authorities confirm roughly 1,000 crew members were present on site during the incident. No injuries have been reported so far, though local residents have been instructed to close their windows and doors as a precaution.

Firefighters are working to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby forested areas or structures.

This year’s main stage which was an elaborate installation themed “The World of Orbyz” was intended to double as the centerpiece for Tomorrowland Brazil later this year. The structure, built over a year by an international team of artists, now lies in ruins and appears nearly destroyed.

Tomorrowland organizers have placed safety protocols at the forefront, evacuating all personnel and maintaining close coordination with emergency services.

This isn’t the first time Tomorrowland has faced this kind of disruption: in 2017, the Barcelona edition saw a pyrotechnics accident that forced the evacuation of over 22,000 attendees.

Event partners and top-tier artists, including Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and upcoming acts such as Charlotte de Witte are now watching closely as the clock ticks toward the scheduled start.

Organizers have not confirmed whether any performances or stages will be postponed, modified, or relocated, citing ongoing assessments.

Tomorrowland’s flagship structure has suffered major damage mere days before fans descend on Boom. Repair timelines remain uncertain, and the event’s fate now hinges on the outcome of rapid-fire decisions by organizers, crew, and local authorities.
