Netflix to Host Spotify Video Podcasts Starting Early 2026

Netflix and Spotify have reached a licensing agreement that will allow Netflix to stream a slate of Spotify’s video podcasts beginning in the U.S. in early 2026.

Under the deal, video editions of Spotify Studios and The Ringer podcasts will be available on both platforms.

Titles confirmed include The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Rewatchables, The Zach Lowe Show, Conspiracy Theories, Serial Killers, and select sports-oriented shows from The Ringer (NFL, NBA, F1, Fantasy Football).

Netflix says it will not insert commercial breaks into the video podcasts on its platform, even for users on ad-supported tiers, though Spotify’s embedded advertisements within the content will remain.

Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Netflix frames this as part of its strategy to expand content beyond series and films.

According to Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy:

“our partnership with Spotify allows us to bring full video versions of these top shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences.”

From Spotify’s side, Roman Wasenmüller, VP and Head of Podcasts, described the partnership as a way to expand discovery and help creators reach new audiences.

The rollout will begin in the U.S., with plans for international expansion later.

One notable exclusion: The Joe Rogan Experience, Spotify’s most-listened-to podcast, is not part of the initial slate.

We view this deal as a test case for video podcast distribution beyond conventional podcast platforms. As video content consumption gains momentum, streaming services like Netflix see an opportunity in diversifying their content mix.
