Orlando-based rapper Maxon Margiela, whose legal name was Mason Reyes, has died at the age of 21, according to multiple reports circulating online.
The news of his death broke on November 16, 2025, when tributes and rumors of suicide began to spread across social media.
His sister, Mya Reyes, later shared a childhood photo with him on Instagram, writing simply, “I love you. I miss you. Sleep well.”
A formal cause of death has not been confirmed by law enforcement, family, or his record label. However, fans and peers have reported that Reyes had a history of mental health struggles.
Margiela emerged from Florida’s underground hip-hop scene as one of the youngest Gen-Alpha voices in the genre.
He released his debut mixtape, #healthy, in November 2024, and that same month dropped the single Austin Powers, which quickly went viral.
In March 2025, he signed with Columbia Records, signaling broader recognition of his talent.
