Bad Bunny has claimed the title of Spotify's most-streamed artist globally for 2025, accumulating more than 19.8 billion streams on the platform.
The Puerto Rican rapper, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, outpaced Taylor Swift, who placed second, along with The Weeknd in third, Drake in fourth, and Billie Eilish in fifth on the global artist rankings.
Spotify released the data as part of its annual Wrapped feature on December 3, which compiles listening trends from January through October for its over 600 million users worldwide.
Bad Bunny's album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, which debuted in early 2025, ranked as the top album globally for the year and featured the track DtMF at number five on the global songs chart.
The album marked his fourth number one on the Billboard 200 chart and earned him nominations in three Grammy Big Four categories, making him the first Spanish-language artist to achieve this feat.
Spotify stated in its release that "Bad Bunny is once again Spotify's Global Top Artist" and added that the company is launching a global campaign to honor him and his fans, including a short film titled Leap Year and fan activations worldwide.
Bad Bunny first topped Spotify's global artist chart in 2020 with 8.3 billion streams, followed by back-to-back wins in 2021 with 9.1 billion streams and in 2022 with 18.5 billion streams, becoming the first artist to hold the position for three consecutive years.
Taylor Swift took the top spot in 2023 with 26.1 billion streams and again in 2024 with 26.6 billion streams.
Before Bad Bunny's initial win, the global top artist titles went to Post Malone in 2019, Drake in 2018, Ed Sheeran in 2017, Drake in 2016 and 2015, and Ed Sheeran in 2014.
Spotify noted that:
"The year in music featured the return of a global superstar to the top spot, powerful collaborations that became instant classics, and a film soundtrack that took the world by storm."
Bad Bunny's return to the top came during a year when global streams on Spotify reached record levels, driven by collaborations like Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' Die With A Smile, which led the songs chart with over 1.7 billion streams.
