Honor Teases Magic8 RSR Porsche Design Flagship with Snapdragon Power and Camera Boosts

Honor has teased its upcoming Magic8 RSR Porsche Design smartphone, a high-end flagship developed in partnership with Porsche Design and set for launch in early 2026 before China's Spring Festival on February 17.
The smartphone positions itself as the top model in the Magic 8 series, surpassing the Magic 8 Pro, and incorporates the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, along with up to 24GB of RAM, for enhanced performance in demanding tasks.
Honor R&D engineer Cao Gong posted on Weibo about testing a new device, and Honor Performance Optimization R&D Engineer A Yong disclosed the model's name, confirming the phone has reached advanced testing phases.
Tipster Digital Chat Station posted on Weibo that Honor has accelerated development to release the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design before the Spring Festival, positioning it ahead of rivals such as the Vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra, both slated for after the holiday.
The smartphone features a 6.71-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display with quad-curved edges, a 7,200mAh battery, 120W wired fast charging, wireless charging support, satellite connectivity, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, 3D face recognition, and ratings of IP68, IP69, and IP69K for durability.
It will come in Slate Gray and Moonstone colors. For photography, the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design includes a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50R primary camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and 110dB dynamic range for low-light shots and depth.
Tipster DirectorShiGuan noted on the telephoto lens upgrade, "the zoom lens of the new device is truly something look forward to."
The same tipster added that the telephoto system "can easily beat flagship smartphones with a focal length ranging from 5x to 50x efficiently."
The device builds on the Magic 8 series launched in China in October, which includes the Magic 8 with a 7,000mAh battery and triple camera setup of 50-megapixel main, 50-megapixel ultrawide, and 64-megapixel telephoto sensors, and the Magic 8 Pro with a 7,200mAh battery and cameras consisting of a 50-megapixel main, 50-megapixel ultrawide, and 200-megapixel telephoto offering 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
