The Light Straight + Multi-styler uses patented infrared light technology to straighten and style hair at temperatures not exceeding 320 degrees Fahrenheit, working three times faster than leading premium stylers and leaving hair twice as smooth, according to instrumental tests conducted by the company.

The handheld device employs near-infrared light to reshape internal hydrogen bonds in hair fibers and includes smart sensors with proprietary algorithms and machine learning to adapt to user gestures.

The LED Face Mask, an ultra-thin flexible silicone prototype developed with iSmart, delivers red light at 630 nanometers and near-infrared light at 830 nanometers in 10-minute sessions to combat signs of aging such as fine lines, sagging and uneven tone.

The LED Eye Mask applies the same wavelengths through 16 LED chips per mask in timed sessions, with a transparent support integrating skin-safe microcircuits for precise light emission.

The company plans to develop a serum for use with the masks to address dryness and enhance treatment effectiveness.

"At L'Oréal, we've always believed that beauty is deeply connected to scientific discovery, a belief that has been central to our company since its inception over 115 years ago. Today, we tirelessly combine the latest scientific and technological breakthroughs with our creativity to craft innovative beauty experiences that are more effective and tailored to individual needs. This year, our pioneering advancements in light technologies at CES 2026 once again demonstrate our commitment to pushing the boundaries of new beauty solutions," said Barbara Lavernos, deputy chief executive officer in charge of research, innovation and technology at L'Oréal Groupe.

The Light Straight + Multi-styler builds on technology from the AirLight Pro hair dryer unveiled at CES 2024.

The LED masks mark the company's first entry into facial LED devices, with prototypes including versions for eyes, full face with 208 LED chips, chin and neck.

"Light Straight + Multi-styler moves hairstyling beyond correction into prevention. Limiting cumulative heat exposure to help preserve the integrity of natural hair from the start, we're enabling consumers to protect their hair now and for the future. We believe this innovation sets a new standard in precision styling, not just upgrading, but redefining the entire hairstyling category," said Guive Balooch, global vice president of augmented beauty and open innovation at L'Oréal Groupe.

The LED Face Mask launch in the United States depends on the Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) premarket notification process.
