A leak on Chinese social media platform Weibo has disclosed the processors powering the forthcoming Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Pro smartphones from Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi.

The standard Redmi Turbo 5 will incorporate the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 system-on-chip. The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro will integrate the Dimensity 9500e processor.

MediaTek has not announced either chipset as of January 2, 2026.

The Dimensity 8500 and 9500e are projected to launch in early 2026, positioning the Redmi Turbo 5 series as potential initial adopters of the chipsets.

The Redmi Turbo 5 series is anticipated to arrive in China in February 2026, concurrent with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Conflicting reports point to a possible debut on December 25, 2025, or in January 2026.

The Dimensity 8500 employs TSMC's 4nm fabrication process and achieves a maximum clock speed of 3.4GHz.

The Dimensity 9500e attains a clock speed of 3.73GHz and incorporates a G925 MP12 graphics processing unit, built on TSMC's 3nm N3E process.

"Redmi is currently testing a new mid-range smartphone powered by the Dimensity 8500 chipset," tipster Digital Chat Station stated on Weibo.

Redmi Turbo 5 Pro bears model number 2602BRT18C, as listed on China's 3C certification database.

The Turbo 5 Pro contains a 9,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging capability.

It includes a metal frame, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and an LTPS OLED display at 1.5K resolution.

The Turbo 5 houses an 8,000mAh battery supporting 100W charging. It carries a 6.5-inch LTPS flat display with 1.5K resolution.

Prior leaks described a 7,500mAh battery, a 6.6-inch 1.5K screen, a metal frame, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for the Turbo 5.

The Redmi Turbo 4 utilized the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor. The Turbo 4 Pro adopted the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.
