Withings introduced the Body Scan 2 smart scale at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Monday, adding features to detect hypertension risk and atrial fibrillation without a blood pressure cuff or blood tests.
The French health technology company equipped the $599.95 device with Impedance Cardiography to monitor heart pumping efficiency and Bioimpedance Spectroscopy to assess cellular health and metabolic function.

It's an AI-powered smart scale that measures more than 60 biomarkers during a 90-second scan, including weight, heart rate, body composition, heart electrical activity, artery health, glycemic regulation patterns and cellular membrane integrity.
Withings incorporated eight electrodes in the tempered-glass base and four in a retractable handle that includes a color display, allowing users to pull the handle to hip level for upper-body data collection.
The device stimulates foot sweat glands with a small current to evaluate gland activity as a marker of health and uses noninvasive methods to track metabolic indicators more frequently than clinical blood tests.
“We have been building this vision of adding a lot of powerful biomarkers that can be measured every day when you step on the scale,” said Antoine Joussain, Withings’ director of product management, devices.
The scale provides a Health Trajectory score in the connected app to synthesize biomarker data into a prediction of healthy life years and flags changes in metrics such as heart age or prediabetes precursors.
Withings set the Body Scan 2 for release in the second quarter of 2026 in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Europe at prices of $600, £450 and AU$899, pending Food and Drug Administration clearance for select features.
The rechargeable battery lasts up to 15 months, and the scale syncs data via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to apps on iPhone or Android devices while complying with GDPR and HIPAA privacy standards.
