Valve Steam Deck OLED Faces Intermittent Shortages Worldwide

Valve updated its official Steam Deck sales page with a notice about the availability of its OLED handheld gaming devices.

The 512GB and 1TB Steam Deck OLED models experience periodic stock disruptions across various markets.

The page specifies that these interruptions affect customers attempting to purchase the devices directly from the company's online store.

"Steam Deck OLED may be out-of-stock intermittently in some regions due to memory and storage shortages," Valve stated in the note on the sales page.

The 512GB model sells for $549 and includes a 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display, a 7.4-inch diagonal screen size, premium anti-glare etched glass on the 1TB variant, a 6nm APU, 16GB LPDDR5 onboard memory at 6400 MT/s, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, a 50Whr battery offering 3-12 hours of usage depending on content, a 45W power supply with a 2.5m cable, a carrying case, and a Steam profile bundle.

The 1TB model, priced at $649, shares these specifications but upgrades to 1TB NVMe SSD storage and includes the anti-glare etched glass as standard.

Valve ships the Steam Deck OLED to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Stock levels fluctuate independently in each of these areas, leading to situations where the device appears available in one location while unavailable in another at the same moment.

The memory and storage components integral to the device's construction face supply constraints that prompt these outages.

The company maintains production of the OLED variants while phasing out older models.

Earlier, Valve announced that the Steam Deck LCD 256GB variant ceased production and remains available only until existing inventory sells through.
