Realme confirms 16T 5G India launch for May 22 with 8,000mAh battery

Realme has put the 16T 5G on its Indian website and says the phone will launch in India on May 22 at 12PM.

The handset is now listed in the company’s “New Launch” section, and Realme’s event page uses the title “realme 16T 5G Launching on 22nd May,” which confirms the model exists and that India is the first market announced so far.

Realme’s X account has also teased the device with the line:

“The 8000mAh keeps you there longer. All-star power. Superstar portraits.” and the post says the launch is set for May 22.

Realme’s teaser material says the 16T 5G will come in Starlight Black, Starlight Red and a blue shade, and that sales will run through Flipkart and the Realme India online store.

The company has also highlighted an 8,000mAh Titan Battery, 45W wired fast charging, bypass charging and reverse charging, alongside battery claims of up to three days of use, 14.3 hours of gaming, 34 hours of social media scrolling and 21.9 hours of navigation on a single charge.

Current reporting based on Realme’s teasers and early listings says the phone may use a 6.8-inch flat display, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip, Android 16, up to 8GB of RAM, a dual rear camera setup and a selfie mirror.

That same reporting says the device could be 8.8mm thick. Those details are not on the official launch pages we checked, so they remain unconfirmed until Realme publishes a full spec sheet.

Realme has not posted pricing on the launch pages, which keeps the 16T 5G positioned as a battery-first midrange model ahead of the May 22 event.

The official teaser language centers on endurance and portraits, so the company appears to be aiming this phone at buyers who care more about long runtime than headline camera hardware.
