iPhone 12 vs. Samsung Galaxy S20

There is an unending battle between Android and iOS devices. Samsung being at the lead of Android and iPhones representing their native iOS.

2020 saw two new models by each brand. Samsung launched its Galaxy S20 and Apple released the iPhone 12 series. Each brand has delivered an incredible product, but is there a superior device? Follow as we dissect the specs of both the newest Samsung and iPhone to deliver a verdict.

Samsung Galaxy S20

Samsung Galaxy S20

The Samsung Galaxy was released on March 6 of 2020. The phone has been received with some good critics. The dimensions are considered as comfortable with a screen size of 5.97 x 2.72 x 0.31 inches.

The device is light weighing only 5.75 ounces, but still manages to have a sturdy built, both in the front and rear glass. The screen resolution has an outstanding 1440 x 3200 pixels, and a 563 PPI density allowing some major high-quality pictures.

The new Samsung S20 used Android 10. With a top of the line octa-core internal processor. It has 8GB RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.

The camera is incredible. The main one sports 3 cameras with 12MP, 64 MP, and 12 MP. It also has the ability of 8K video shooting. The selfie camera follows closely with 10MP quality and 4K video shooting capabilities.

The phone is available in five distinctive colors: cosmic grey, cloud blue, cloud pink, cloud white, and aura red. The battery endurance has been rated at 71 hours which is slightly lower than the iPhone 12 results.

At a hefty price of up to $697.95, it is actually a good deal to strike due to its great overall quality and features.

iPhone 12

iPhone 12

The new iPhone 12 series was released on October 23, 2020. The phone is slightly smaller than the Samsung S20, which for many makes for a better user experience. The dimensions are 5.78 x 2.81 x 029 inches, for a more compact phone model. The iPhone, however, is a bit heavier with 5.78 ounces than its Samsung counterpart, kind of curious considering this model is smaller in size.

The screen quality is amazing in comparison with the newest Samsung Galaxy. However, the iPhone 12 at 1170 x 2532 pixels and a 460 PPI density are still below the other phone’s performance.

The iPhone 12 used iOS 14.2 and a native chipset. The internal processor has a great hexa-core, that still cannot quite catch up to Samsung's octa-core GPU. The RAM has a maximum of 4GB and up to 256 GB of internal memory.

The camera quality has been regarded as outstanding. But, the Samsung Galaxy S20, takes a win here too. The iPhone 12 main camera can shoot with a 12 MP quality and take 4K videos only. On the other hand, the selfie camera is similar to the one on the Samsung device.

The newest iPhone has five color selections available: black, white, red, green, and blue. The only category the iPhone has enjoyed a victory yet over the Samsung S20 is battery endurance. The iPhone 12 scored an incredible rating of 84 hours. At a high price of up to $849, it is a serious investment to consider.

Verdict

The truth is that at first glance iPhone devices may seem as not too much when compared to their Android peers. However, the performance test results prove that a great built phone is much better than a bunch of powerful parts thrown together.

There is no doubt that the new Samsung Galaxy line-up is incredibly powerful and high-quality. But it got defeated in all the test runs, and it just proves the efficiency and hard work that went into building iPhone devices.

While iOS is still very selective and Android allows for more freedom. We can only recommend the iPhone 12 event when it has a higher price mark up than the Samsung Galaxy S20.

Benefits of buying carrier-locked phones

Big carriers offer great deals. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, among others have amazing discounts when signing their subscription plans. Obviously, the money saved is quite appealing.

You can end up paying as low as zero dollars. Or enroll in their 24 or 30 months credit plans. There is no doubt that financial help is very appealing.

Cons of carrier-lock phones.

There are a few downsides to carrier-locked devices. When your phone is locked to a wireless network you cannot sign in to another one. When traveling domestically or abroad this can be a huge inconvenience.

A low or bad coverage area can render your phone either useless or get you stuck with a low Internet speed. If you then decide to switch carriers, you might need to pay hundreds of dollars worth of termination fees if even possible. Some carriers will maintain your phone locked even after contract termination.

How to unlock a Samsung or iPhone if carrier-locked

Luckily, you can still benefit from the great deals of buying a carrier-locked phone and enjoy wireless network freedom on your device. If you use an IMEI unlocking service you can get rid of the imaginary shackles on your phone.

One of the fastest and most reliable websites we have used recently expanded from unlocking iPhones to Samsungs and they are killing it with their service. iPhoneIMEI.net is worth checking, but if you’re unsure maybe you can try something locally.

There are enormous benefits when unlocking your phone. Network freedom is the most noteworthy. Being able to switch carriers no matter when or when without any penalty is like a dream come true.
