At its peak, the outage appeared to be widespread, affecting ChatGPT users globally. While some users reported experiencing issues, others were still able to access ChatGPT normally.

OpenAI identified the problem at approximately 1:32 AM PDT on June 4th, 2024, and began working on a quick solution. The service remained unavailable worldwide for 2 hours and 45 minutes before being completely restored.

This marks the second outage for ChatGPT in 2024, following a previous incident reported on February 14th.

However, ChatGPT still has a 99.54% uptime rate and that's awesome for an online service that's being used by millions of people around the globe.
