Xpeng X9 Launched in Malaysia: Electric MPV Starting from RM270,708

Xpeng Motors has officially launched its all-electric MPV, the X9, in Malaysia, marking a significant entry into the luxury electric vehicle market.
The X9 is priced from RM270,708 on-the-road without insurance and is available in three color options: Nebula White, Crescent Silver, and Dark Night Black. Interior choices include Moon Shadow Brown and Starry Night Black.
Performance and Range
The Xpeng X9 boasts an electric motor delivering 315 horsepower, powered by an 84.5 kWh battery. According to ZigWheels, it offers a driving range of up to 610 km per charge, providing ample distance for long journeys without frequent charging stops.
Charging Capabilities
Equipped with an 800V high-voltage SiC (Silicon Carbide) platform, the X9 supports rapid charging, allowing drivers to add 300 km of range with just a 10-minute charge.
Market Positioning
The X9 enters the Malaysian market as a competitor to established models like the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire, as well as other electric MPVs such as the Denza D9 and Zeekr 009.
According to Paultan, its combination of luxury features, advanced technology, and competitive pricing positions it as a strong contender in the MPV segment.
Future Plans
While Xpeng is exploring local assembly (CKD) plans in Malaysia, the company has confirmed CKD operations in Indonesia, citing clearer government policies there. Discussions are ongoing with the Malaysian government to establish favorable conditions for local assembly.
The Xpeng X9 is now available for viewing and orders at Xpeng showrooms across Malaysia. Deliveries are expected to commence in the coming months, offering Malaysian consumers a new option in the electric MPV market.
