Xiaomi 17 Ultra China Launch Confirmed for December 25 With New Starry Green Option

Xiaomi has set the launch of its 17 Ultra smartphone for December 25 at 7 p.m. local time in China during the Xiaomi x Leica Imaging Strategic Cooperation Upgrade event.
The company revealed the device will feature a large circular camera module centered on the rear panel with Leica branding inside.
The handset includes segmented and circular volume buttons along with a large R-angle 2D flat screen.
At 8.29 millimeters thick, the phone stands as the thinnest in the company's Ultra lineup to date.
"The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the company's thinnest Ultra model to date," the company stated.
The 17 Ultra will come in black and white options, and the company introduced a Starry Sky Green color that includes ore particles to mimic a starry sky effect.
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing described the green variant and said:
"it incorporates ore particles that resemble a starry sky."
The device carries a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor using a 1-inch OmniVision OV50X unit and paired with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens from Samsung, all under Leica APO certification.

The company highlighted upgrades to low-light photography through a new simultaneous telephoto optical system.
A teaser image displayed a sample shot at ISO 64 with a 1/50-second shutter speed on an f/1.67 aperture sensor.
The smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and includes a 6,800 milliampere-hour battery supporting 100-watt wired charging and 80-watt wireless charging.
The company confirmed the phone's debut aligns with ongoing collaboration with Leica for imaging enhancements.
