Caviar, a Dubai-based company specializing in high-end device modifications, unveiled the Black Edition series for Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max in Dubai.
The collection addresses Apple's exclusion of the traditional black titanium finish from the iPhone 17 Pro series, which instead offers colors such as Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue.
Reservations for the customized phones began on January 28 through Caviar's website, with each model based on the 1TB storage variant of the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The four models in the lineup are Black is Back, Shadow, Spark, and Obsidian Black Edition.
All share a matte black chassis made from aerospace-grade titanium, treated with anodizing and physical vapor deposition coating to achieve a durable deep black shade.
Each includes a panel of natural crocodile leather on the lower back section.
- The Black is Back model presents a straightforward black titanium frame paired with crocodile leather, priced from $9,130.
- The Shadow variant maintains a monochrome scheme, including black decorative screws, and starts at $10,410.
- The Spark model adds 24-karat gold-plated screws and inserts for contrast against the black base, with pricing beginning at $9,840.
- The Obsidian Black Edition employs a richer black tone with a mirror-like sheen, also starting at $10,410.

Production limits cap the Black is Back, Shadow, and Spark models at 19 units each, while the Obsidian Black Edition extends to 99 units.
Caviar handcrafts each device, and the development process for the black finish took five months of testing various options.
Packages include luxury boxing, a collector's coin, and a gold-plated key.
"A flagship missing its signature black? It seems impossible, yet the original Apple iPhone 17 Pro lineup no longer features the classic dark hue," Caviar stated in its announcement.
The models target collectors and enthusiasts seeking premium modifications beyond Apple's stock offerings.
