Alamosa Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Prize After Tough Day on the Job
Jonathan G., a homeless resident of Alamosa, Colorado, secured a $1 million top prize from the Colorado Lottery's $20 200X Scratch game.

He purchased the winning ticket at the Walmart Supercenter located at 3333 Clark Street in Alamosa while working as a cell phone representative at the store.
The win occurred during a challenging shift for Jonathan, who decided to buy the ticket between sales calls.
“I was having a tough sales day and it actually paid off,” he said.
Jonathan has played scratch games intermittently for several years and limits his spending to what he can afford, usually opting for $5 tickets.
His previous largest win amounted to $20.
On this particular day, Jonathan deviated from his routine and chose the higher-priced ticket.
“Something in my head said, ‘Hey, why not try for that $20 one? What’s the worst that could happen?” he said.
Upon scratching the ticket and realizing the $1 million win, Jonathan expressed shock at the outcome.
“My reaction was total disbelief,” he said while speaking to the Colorado Lottery event.

A Path from Hardship to Stability
Jonathan's lottery success follows a period of personal difficulties, including unemployment and time spent living in a shelter.
He progressed to gaining employment and finding a stable home before this prize elevated his circumstances further.
With his winnings, Jonathan plans to improve his family's conditions by purchasing a home, as he is currently homeless, and starting a small business to support his livelihood.
He aims to support his girlfriend and children through the funds.
The 200X Scratch game offers multiple top prizes of $1 million, and Jonathan claimed one of them with his ticket from the Alamosa Walmart.
The store receives a bonus for selling the winning ticket, standard procedure for such wins in the Colorado Lottery system.
