The renders depict the device in a closed state, with a rear camera module featuring two lenses arranged horizontally on a plateau, similar to the iPhone Air.
A centered pinhole cutout sits on the front cover display for the selfie camera.
When unfolded, the device reveals an inner display with another pinhole camera in the left corner.
The overall form factor is squarish, resembling an iPad mini when open, with rounded edges and a two-tone finish, including a rectangular panel below the camera housing that houses the Apple logo.
The leak surfaced on March 8, 2026, amid expectations that Apple plans to release the foldable iPhone in September 2026 as part of the iPhone 18 lineup.
Apple CEO Tim Cook stated during a January 2025 earnings call:
“There’s a lot more to come and I could not feel more optimistic about our product pipeline…there’s a lot of innovation left on the smartphone.”
