OPPO Reno15 A Enters Japanese Market with Large Battery and AI Tools

Oppo Reno 15A

The Oppo Reno15 A has officially launched as a mid-range 5G smartphone, specifically introduced to the Japanese market in partnership with carriers like SoftBank and Rakuten Mobile.

Japanese carriers will sell the OPPO Reno15 A starting June 25. Reservations open June 18 through operators including UQ mobile, Rakuten Mobile and Y!mobile.

The Reno15 A targets mid-range buyers who want long battery life and camera features. It carries a 7,000mAh battery, the largest in the Reno A series.

This shows a roughly 20% improvement over the previous model. OPPO states that you can expect around 2.5 days of battery life, even with about six hours of typical daily use.

The phone supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging and 55W PPS charging. It adds bypass charging for the first time in the Reno A lineup. This feature supplies power directly to the device during use to reduce heat and battery wear.

"OPPO Reno15 A" will launch with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. It comes in two configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Users can expand storage with a microSD card up to 1TB.

The device runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. OPPO highlights AI features such as AI Mind Space, which organizes screenshots, notes and web pages. It also includes AI photo editing tools like portrait glow, object removal and blur correction.

Camera setup includes a 50MP main rear sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera with 100-degree field of view. The front camera supports group selfies and landscape shots. Additional features include pop-out photo effects and motion photos.

The 6.6-inch AMOLED display offers up to 120Hz refresh rate and reaches 1,400 nits peak brightness. It has IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone supports Osaifu Keitai mobile payments and My Number card functions in Japan.

Colors include Aurora Blue, Twilight Navy and Afterglow Pink. Prices and exact availability vary by carrier and retailer.

The Reno15 A joins the broader Reno15 series that launched globally earlier this year. This Japan version adapts the lineup for local needs with satellite connectivity support on some networks and carrier-specific features.
