How much will the Tesla Model Y L cost?
Tesla has set the price for its longer six-seat Model Y L. In Australia the SUV starts at $74,900 plus on-road costs. In India Tesla lists it at ₹61.99 lakh ex-showroom.

Tesla started taking orders for the Model Y L in the United States and Puerto Rico. The vehicle is the longer version of the company's top-selling SUV with added space for a usable third row.
The Model Y L measures about seven inches longer than the standard Model Y and features a six-inch increase in wheelbase. It uses a six-seat layout with second-row captain's chairs. Tesla lists 89 cubic feet of cargo space when seats fold flat. The Launch Series model comes with dual-motor all-wheel drive, an 88 kWh battery, and claims 325 miles of range on 19-inch wheels. It reaches 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
Tesla set the price for the Model Y L Premium Launch Series at $61,990 before taxes and fees. That figure includes destination and order fees in some listings that bring the total around $63,630. The Launch Series bundles one year of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), one year of Supercharging, one year of Premium Connectivity, free choice of exterior colors, and other extras like special badging and upgraded audio.
The Australian price was confirmed in first-drive reviews published this month. Drive.com.au reported the variant is sold only as a dual-motor all-wheel-drive Premium Long Range.
The figure places the Model Y L between the $68,900 Long Range AWD five-seater and the $89,400 Performance in Australia.
Drive lists a drive-away estimate of $85,300 in New South Wales for a standard car without options. With premium paint and interior the price as tested reached $79,000 plus on-roads.
For that money buyers get a claimed 681 km WLTP range and five-second 0-100 km/h acceleration.
Equipment includes adaptive suspension, 19-inch wheels, second-row captain's chairs with power adjustment, heating and ventilation, power armrests, and heated power-folding third-row seats. The front seats gain extendable under-thigh cushions, an 18-speaker system, and ventilated 50-watt wireless charging.
In India Tesla introduced the Model Y L in April. The Economic Times reported the launch price from the company website.

Car listings show the price gap across the range. The standard Model Y RWD is Rs 59.89 lakh, the Model Y L AWD Long Range is Rs 61.99 lakh, and the Model Y RWD Long Range is Rs 67.89 lakh.
On-road costs in Indian cities vary. ZigWheels data for July 2026 lists the Model Y L Premium AWD at ₹65.18 lakh on-road in Mumbai, the same figure in Indore, Nagpur and Noida. In Gurgaon the site lists ₹71.38 lakh on-road for the top variant.
Tesla builds the Model Y L in China and sells it across Asia-Pacific. This Tesla model has rolled out in Japan, South Korea and Australia, with China as the production hub, and is coming to the United States and Europe, as Tesla has already launched the model in the USA.
Tesla reported 480,126 vehicle deliveries for the second quarter, beating many Wall Street forecasts. The company said most deliveries came from the Model 3 and Model Y family, with Europe showing renewed growth after months of weaker demand.
Import duties push the Indian price higher than in other markets. Tesla imports from China and pays duties of 100–110 percent.
The company entered India in July 2025 with the standard Model Y. Sales have stayed low. Federation of Automobile Dealers Association data cited by Moneycontrol showed 342 registrations in the first six months, averaging fewer than 60 units a month.
In Australia the Model Y L becomes the cheapest new electric vehicle with more than five seats. Drive noted it undercuts the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Pro LWB at $80,990 plus on-roads, the Denza D9 at $85,990, the Mercedes-Benz EQB250+ at $90,000, and the Kia EV9 from $97,000.
