X Rolls Out New Live-Streaming System for Gaming and Q&A
X owner Elon Musk announced the immediate release of an updated live-streaming system built for broadcasting video games and hosting live question-and-answer sessions.

Musk previously tested video streaming on the platform under the handle @cyb3rgam3r420 during Diablo IV gameplay sessions to test server load and video stability. Early technical errors pushed platform developers to reconstruct the backend streaming software.

The updated streaming framework connects into Creator Studio. Creators can adjust chat moderation settings by restricting live comments to verified accounts, subscribers, or specific users.
The tools operate alongside X's Live Studio desktop dashboard. Broadcasters receive analytics tracking viewer totals, peak engagement times, and viewer locations.
Access requires an active X Premium subscription, which costs $3 per month. Users can set broadcast titles, upload video thumbnails, and schedule streaming times before launching a broadcast.
Engineering teams expanded broadcast capacities following earlier server crashes during major live audio streams. Recent tests using Starlink satellite equipment maintained connection latencies around 30 milliseconds during high-action gaming sessions.
To increase user activity on the platform, X allocated $1 million in creator incentives for account holders who stream live content during the current payout cycle. The move places X in direct competition with streaming platforms Twitch and YouTube.
Broadcasters can stream sessions lasting up to three hours and monitor live chat interactions. Settings allow streamers to alternate between full desktop feeds, face cameras, and audio channels.

X restricted access to Live Studio to users subscribed to X Premium or higher paid tiers. Free account holders can watch broadcasts but cannot host live streams through the new desktop tools.
