UpdateLand: Interview with Jyoti Chauhan

Interview with Jyoti Chauhan of UpdateLand
Sharing an original story may not be an easy thing for many successful persons in the world and most of them lie, that's why newbies at business can't get to that point where they can actually make/bake something great. This time, Jyoti Chauhan shared her real story from an SEO internee to a full-time blogger.

Jyoti Chauhan is a "Blogging Queen from Sonipat, Haryana" and also an affiliate marketer who is currently a professional blogger. Here's her interview for AllBlogThings readers:

First of all, I want to say Thank you Mohammad Umer Idrisi to invite me and allow me to share my journey and knowledge with your blog audience.

Hi, what's your real name?

Jyoti Chauhan (a blogger and affiliate marketer from India)

From where you are and what you do?

I am from Sonipat, Haryana. And I am a full-time blogger at www.updateland.com.

Who's your favorite blogger from Pakistan? And also from India

I hardly pay attention to the country a blogger belongs. There is nothing like favorite blogger for me.

How many times you failed to make money online?

I didn’t fail to make money online. I always got support from my friends and blogging community.
Making money online is one of my favorite things.

Is there any interesting story with your online career?

I started my digital marketing career as an SEO Executive in June 2011.

Funny thing is I don’t know what SEO stands at that time but luckily they hired me to see my grades.
My job was doing social bookmarking and directory submission. It was more like copy-paste at that time.

And after a few months, I started getting bored by doing copy paste.

I knew that work was not for me. I am a person who loves to learn and implement.

Thus, I request to the team leader to assign some other works. But he denied the request. So I thought to join some other companies.

As I was planning to change the company. So I thought to keep all resources of directory submission and social bookmarking in one place So that I can access them easily after leaving the company also.

That’s how I created my first blog named “Seotips4fresher.blogspot.com. Later redirect this to UpdateLand.com.

After 5 -6 months I quit my job and started working with colleagues.

I worked with them for a few months. But they are not paying as they promised in starting. So I was not satisfied again.

I quit working with them also. And after some time, I started working as a freelancer at "Upwork” and earning good money.

I publish content on my blog when I got time. Because I was not aware that I can make much money from blogging.

But first sponsored post changed everything. This made me realized that I can make huge money if I spend more time on my blog.

So, I stopped trading hours for money. And started working on my blog "UpdateLand”. That's how I became a full-time blogger.

How much you are currently earning online?

I don't like to share my earnings publicly.

How you make money online? Do you use Adsense, Affiliate networks or any secret method?

In my starting days of blogging journey, I used to make money with sponsored reviews. Later, my focus shifted towards affiliate marketing.

Here are some affiliate networks and programs for beginners.
  1. ShareASale
  2. ClickBank
  3. CJ Affiliate
  4. Amazon Associates
  5. Semrush
  6. Bluehost
  7. Siteground
  8. Grammarly
  9. GetResponse
  10. Awin etc
ShareASale and Amazon Associates both are my favorite.

What are your future plans?

I hardly plan things. I just do what comes in mind and find right at the current moment.

Who is your inspiration in blogging?

Is there no particular name. When I started my first blog, I read about top bloggers (Harsh Agrawal, Ankit Singla, Imran Uddin, and more) who are making a hell lot of money at that time.

After knowing, I was like “If they can do why not I?”

And I started putting efforts at my blog.

Which blogging platform is best according to you and why?

WordPress is one of the best blogging platforms. It is more user friendly as compared to other blogging platforms.

Anyone can easily blog with WordPress. Even managing SEO thing is also easy with WordPress.

How one can find a cheap hosting and domain provider?

I recently shared an article about the best cheap WordPress hosting. If your blog readers are interested to know about cheap web hosting services to set up a blog, click here to read this.

In fact, few web hosting providers offer free domain and SSL also.

How you manage your time?

I am zero when comes to time management. I sit on my desk and do what’s the most important thing. And once I finish them, I do other stuff.

Anything you want to share as a secret recipe for blogging?

There is nothing like a secret recipe for blogging.

To become a successful blogger, one needs to be consistent in learning and implementing. Always observe your efforts. Ensure you are doing the right stuff.

Some bloggers end up making very little money in their blogging journey. Since they keep doing the same thing over and over and expect different results.

Don't follow anyone blindly.

For beginners, I will recommend visiting Backlinko.com to learn SEO.

If you want to become a successful blogger and make money online, you should start learning SEO from day 1.

Is blogging a serious online business?

Yes, Blogging is a serious online business. And one can definitely earn passive income if he/she considers his/her blog as a business from day 1.

But For me, it is not serious. I found it fun.

It helped me to connect with like-minded people.

And sharing stuff with the people who are in need.

For me, it is helping and earning at the same time.

And both are things that I love and always want to do.

So, this was a success story and the interview of Jyoti Chauhan is an inspiration to many newbie bloggers and people who are new to affiliate marketing and wanna earn something that can help them change their lifestyle. Read and share with your friends.
